Joan L. Crawford-Gary, 55, of Iowa City, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics of natural causes.

She was born July 1, 1953 in Waterloo, daughter of Benjamin F. and Dorsey L. Anderson Crawford.

She married Gregory Gary April 7, 2006 in Rock Island, IL.

Joan was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aid at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for nine years.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory of Iowa City; three sons, Andre (Karen) Crawford, Craig (Leslie) Crawford, and Marcas Crawford all of Iowa City; four brothers, Benjamin (Sheryl) Crawford, and Gary (Laurie) Crawford all of Owatonna, MN, Gregory (Angela) Crawford of Colorado Springs, CO and Warren (Terri) Crawford of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Craig and Mark Crawford; and one sister, Camille Crawford.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at Corinthian Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
