GILBERTVILLE - Dorothy Demuth, 88, of Gilbertville, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of leukemia.

She was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Eagle Center, daughter of John and Josephine Koerner Siebel. She married George Martin Demuth on March 4, 1946, in Eagle Center. He died May 5, 1990.

Mrs. Demuth was employed as a bookkeeper for Gilbertville Plumbing and Heating Co.

Survivors include four daughters, Jo Ann (Don) Homolar of Waterloo, Donna (Bill) Mangrich of Jesup, and Cheryl Demuth-Kresser and Georgia Demuth, both of Gilbertville; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, George Leo; three brothers, Ray, Joe and Jack Siebel; a sister, Frances Schmidt; and a great-granddaughter, Hayli Rae Jean Kresser.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, with rosaries at 4 and 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice, the church or the Bosco System.
