EVANSDALE - William M. "Bill" Hurley Sr., 78, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pancreatic cancer.

He was born April 25, 1928, in Waterloo, son of James Henry and Effie Ruth Feddern Hurley. He married Donna Bell Tibbetts May 15, 1959, in Dakota City, Neb.

Mr. Hurley worked at the John Deere Co. N.E. Site for 18 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Ronald A. (Hazel) of Cedar Falls and William M. "Mike" Hurley Jr. of Faribault, Minn.; two daughters, Rhonda Sue (Randy) Stonewall and Kathy Jo (Bruce) Steinbronn, both of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Misty (Brad) Block of Cedar Falls, Michelle (Kenny Abrams) Hurley of Woodbury, Minn., Ronald A. Hurley II of Cedar Falls, Stephanie (Luke) Thomas of West Des Moines, Jamie (Brandon) Looby of Waterloo, Allyssa Stonewall of West Des Moines, Katie Stonewall of Waterloo, Jensen Steinbronn of Waterloo, Joshua Hurley of Waterloo and Casey Hurley of Faribault, Minn.; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi Braun of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by two brothers, James Henry and Richard Jerome.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post No. 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post No. 31. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
