CEDAR FALLS - Helen Irene Cheever, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 3, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 24, 1913, in Council Bluffs, daughter of Edward and Grace Meyer Cheever.

Ms. Cheever was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) in 1942 with a bachelor's degree business. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Geerlings Feed Mills, Waterloo, until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a half brother, Jim Cheever; and a half sister, Karen Brown, both of Florida.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Cheever and Maruel Coleman.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, assisted the family.
