Clifford Albert Musch, 77 of Waterloo, formerly of Readlyn, Iowa, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo from kidney failure.

Clifford was born on August 9, 1926 in rural Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Herman and Mildred (Davis) Musch. He was baptized in the fall of 1926 at his home in rural Waterloo, Iowa and later confirmed his faith on May 14, 1967 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Waterloo. Cliff attended school in Jesup and later in Dunkerton, Iowa. At a young age, Cliff went to work to help support his family due to his father's illness. He worked at Rath Packing in Waterloo, in 1944.

On June 21, 1944 he was united in marriage to Bernadine Schoonover in Waterloo, where they lived. Bernadine died on July 30, 1965. Cliff married Jeanette (Westendorf) Salisbury on September 9, 1966 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple moved to rural Dunkerton in 1973 and Cliff retired from John Deere in 1977. They lived in DeSoto, Wisconsin from 1984 until they moved to Readlyn, Iowa in 1994. In 2003, Clifford and Jeanette moved to Waterloo.

Cliff was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn. He was a Boy Scout leader for 17 years in Waterloo and a former member of the Lions Club in Dunkerton. He also served on the Dunkerton Telephone Board. Cliff enjoyed fishing and living on the Mississippi River during the ten years they lived in Wisconsin. He also enjoyed wood carving before his sight failed.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Waterloo, two daughters, Pamela Louise Brann of Janesville, Wisconsin; and Rena Ann Ragsdale and her husband Mark of Janesville, Iowa; three step children and their spouses, Daniel Dean and Brenda Salisbury of Waterloo, Iowa; Julie Marie and Roger Oakland of Rochester, Minnesota and Lori Lynn Miller and her husband, Perry of Waterloo, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, Marlene, Tammie, Adam, Shawntelle, Sara, David, Malinda, Dana, Wayne, Jacob, Jenna, Jared, Tory, Keely and Alex; seven great grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Amanda, Cheyanne, Nicolaus, Katlyn and Zachery; two sisters, Viola Carlson of Dunkerton, Iowa; Marion Wolff and her husband, Robert of Waterloo, Iowa; three brothers and their wives, Donald and Iva Musch of Evansdale, Iowa; Bernard and Donna Musch of Waterloo, Iowa; and Jimmy and Barbara Musch of Dunkerton, Iowa; one sister in law, Beverly Musch of Waterloo, Iowa.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a son David Ira Musch who died in Vietnam on September 30, 1966, one brother, Richard Musch.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn. Burial of his cremains will be at a later date at Garden of Memories, Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn.
