WATERLOO - Norene A. Kirkevold, 82, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 27, at ManorCare Health Services in Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Waterloo, daughter of Henry and Verna Mishler Gilbert. She married Kenneth Kirkevold July 30, 1949, in Waterloo. He died March 1, 1989.

She was a partner with her husband in their trucking business, West Union Freight Line, and was a secretary at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home from 1987 until her retirement in 1998.

Survived by a son, Scott (Beth) of Waterloo; and a granddaughter, Randi Kirkevold, all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gilbert.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Monday at the church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of arrangements.
