HUDSON - Michael "Mike" G. Smith, 68, of Hudson, died Thursday, Oct. 27.

He was born Feb. 22, 1943, in Waterloo, son of Robert and Blanche Ranger Smith. He married Kris Evans July 29, 1989.

He graduated from Hudson High School in 1961. Mr. Smith worked at John Deere for 15 years, then Land O'Lakes in Hudson before starting Hudson Auto Body in 1978. He was a member of Fredsville Lutheran Church.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Jeff of Hudson and Rob (Mindy) of DeSoto; two stepsons, Jason (Angela) Evans of Cedar Rapids and Jeremy (Kori) Evans of Reinbeck; and five grandchildren, Zach, Bryce, Katie, Aiden and Piper.

Preceded in death by a grandson, Treye Blythe.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.
