WATERLOO - Joseph T. "Joe" Snider, 69, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Allen Hospital.

He was born Nov. 14, 1941, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., son of Garth T. and Emily A. Norgaard Snider. He married Sharon Kehoe June 29, 1963, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. They later divorced. He married Judy Olson May 22, 1976, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Mr. Snider was employed at the Waterloo Police Department for 30 years, retiring in November 1996 as a sergeant.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Eric (Holly) and Dean of Savoy, Ill., and Rob (Wendy) of Rothschild, Wis.; a stepson, Brett Olson of Cedar Falls; a stepdaughter, Brenda (Jay) Smith of Traer; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Carter of Rochester, Minn., and Sheery (Larry) Bruncheon of Alleman; and three brothers, Richard of Evansdale, and Gary and Steve, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a nephew, Andy; and an infant grandson, Nicholas.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
