CEDAR FALLS - Edwin H. Kuhlmann, 97, of Cedar Falls Western Home, formerly of rural Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1913, in rural Readlyn, son of Fred and Clara Harms Kuhlmann. On March 22, 1936, he married Evelyn Richards at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo. She died March 1, 2006.

Mr. Kuhlmann had dairy cattle, hogs and grain farmed.

Survived by four daughters, Barbara (Robert) Morrow of Reinbeck, Joyce (Bernard) Sadler of Luana, Debra Fowler of Denver and Gloria (Steve) Clough of Waterloo; three sons, Daniel (Sharon) of Sumner, Michael of Sebastopol, Calif., and Timothy of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Watts of Denver; a brother, Harold of Readlyn; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Kuhlmann of Readlyn and Irene Franckowiak of St. Claire, Mich.

Preceded in death by a son, Alan; a son-in-law, Randy Fowler; two brothers, Heinrich in infancy and Werner; two sisters-in-law, Melba Kuhlmann and Virginia Horan; and three brothers-in-law, Richard Franckowiak, Jim Horan and Russell Watts.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Bennington, rural Waterloo, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
