OSAGE - Frances Lillian Evenson, 83, formerly of Osage, died Sunday, Oct. 9, at Southview Suites-Northfield Retirement Community, Northfield, Minn.

She was born May 8, 1928, in West Lincoln Township, Mitchell County, daughter of Henry and Lillian Thressa Peterson Altman. She married Bernard J. Pelleymounter on Aug. 13, 1950, at Osage Lutheran Church, and they later divorced. She married John L. Evenson on Dec. 21, 1973, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Evenson attended Osage High School, earned a bachelor's degree in public school music/piano in 1949 from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, and a master's degree in music education in 1953 from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. She taught school in New Providence, Waterville and Dike. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northfield, and had been employed as secretary/receptionist at Benson Funeral Home, Northfield, for 15 years.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Douglas (Evelyn) Pelleymounter of Northfield and Steven Pelleymounter of Grand Rapids, Minn.; three grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Laurey (Bill) Stanley of Portsmouth, Va., and Julie Evenson of Cedar Falls; four stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Frank Altman of Cedar Falls.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at chapel at Northfield Retirement Community, with burial in Osage Memorial Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Benson & Langehough Funeral Home, Northfield.
