SIMPSON, WIDMIER, BISBEE, BLACK

WATERLOO - Theodore Wayne "Ted" Simpson , 62, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 29, at Covenant Medical Center of multiple myeloma.

He was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Washington, son of Frank Simpson, and was raised by his foster parents, Marvin and Ethel Widmier. He married Susan Bisbee on March 11, 1978, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. They renewed their vows in 1981 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mr. Simpson graduated from Waco High School and attended Kirkwood Community College for two years. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves for 35 years, where he worked as a civil service mechanic for 30 years, retiring as a master sergeant, due to ill health.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Jonathan Wayne and Marsh (Ashley), both of Colo; a stepson, Michael Bisbee of Waterloo; four grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; and a foster sister, Diane Black of Crawfordsville.

Preceded in death by his foster parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 614 W. Seventh St., where the family will receive friends Thursday.
