WATERLOO - Delores Mae Watson, 72, of 510 Sumner St., died at home Saturday, Oct. 1, of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Garden City, La., daughter of Willie Bob and Sedonia Fentis. She married the Rev. Charlie Watson Jr. in Franklin, La., and they later divorced.

Ms. Watson was formerly employed at Adults Inc. and with Waterloo Community Schools.

Survived by a daughter, Michelle Watson of Waterloo; two sons, Jeronical (Debra) Watson of Mason City and Hayward (Shelley) Stone of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Anthony Watson, Veronica Watson, Damico Reed, Chad Elliott, Brylon Watson, Symone Watson, Quatez Watson, Raylon Harrington, Jaylon Jenkins and Chelsey Clay; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Melva Mae Robinson and Emma Lee Morehead; and a granddaughter.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday, all at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 510 Sumner St., where they will receive friends.

Delores Mae Watson was a blessed and loving grandmother, mother and friend. She was devoted to the community and to her church, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing, traveling, baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
