WATERLOO - Mary J. Dams, 92, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Bickford Cottage, Cedar Falls.

She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in the Philippines, daughter of Placido and Susana Jose. She married Edwin H. Dams Sr. on Aug. 28, 1946, in the Philippines. He preceded her in death.

Survived by a son, Edwin Jr. (Eileen) of Waterloo; two grandsons, Jason (Stacy) Dams of Walford and Justin (Christy) Dams of Waterloo; six great-grandchildren, Dannica, Sydney, Syler, Payton, Tadin and Maraya; a brother, Vicente Jose of the Philippines; a sister, Irinea Jose Mateo of the Philippines; five sisters-in-law, Lois Olson of Waterloo, Joan Dahms of Reinbeck, Lonnie Chevalier of Cedar Falls, Marian (Lenard) Jensen of Utah and Jeanna Stearns of Michigan; and two brothers-in-law, Clarence (Shirley) Steggall of Decorah and Jerry Steggall of California.

Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Luis Jose and Joseph Jose; and a sister, Candida Corpuz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 608 W. Fourth St., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
