CEDAR FALLS - Sara Anne Frankl, 38, of Algona, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 24.

She was born May 13, 1973, daughter of Mike and Jane Grandgenett Frankl.

Ms. Frankl graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School, Algona, in 1991, and received her English degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1996. She worked for a magazine in Cedar Falls until her disability made it difficult to work.

Survived by her mother of Algona; three brothers, Jerry (Amy) Frankl of Ames, Jim (Amy) Frankl of Akron and Steve (Patience) Frankl of Port Washington, Wis.; two sisters, Laura (Jeff) Pedersen of Sioux City and Janette Frankl of Winona, Minn.; and her grandmother, Rita Frankl of Cherokee.

Preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Joe and Florence Grandgenett; and paternal grandfather, Gerald Frankl.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Algona. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Memorial services 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's Student Center on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to World Vision and Relay for Life, or book donations to various charities including the Ronald McDonald House.
