WATERLOO - C. Gale Strohbehn, 67, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 17, at Bickford House, Springfield, Ill., of cancer.

She was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Waterloo, daughter of Ralph and Myrna Pecenka Strohbehn. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1962, then continued her education at Gates Business College. She lived in Lyndon, Ill., for 15 years, where she was the personnel director at Penberthy.

Survived by three sons, Jon (Kendra) Fernandez of Springfield, Ill., Clint Fernandez of Rockford, Ill., and Tom Fernandez of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter, Jill (Wayne) Gross of Tennessee; a grandson, David Fernandez and thee other grandchildren; a brother, Daryl (Cathy) Strohbehn of Boone; and a sister, Carolyn (Dick) Dinsdale of Traer.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Sydney in 2008.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Geneseo United Methodist Church, rural Buckingham, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in the church cemetery. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church at 3127 115th St., Buckingham 50612.

Gale was an avid gardener. She and her sister Sydney displayed and sold their goods at the farmers market in Cedar Falls for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
