WATERLOO - Kathleen Smith, 83, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Allen Hospital.

She was born April 24, 1928, in Vinton, daughter of Charles "Chauncy" and Clara Stoller Primmer. She married Everett D. Smith Nov. 11, 1950, in Edgewood.

She was a nurse at Schoitz and Allen Hospitals, Parkview Gardens and Manor Care Center for 30 years.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Dwight D. (Lorrie) of Cedar Falls and Daniel D. (Vicki) of Varna, Ill.; two daughters, Susan (Curtis) Tomkins of Waterloo and Sheryl of Indianapolis; four sisters, Evelyn Primmer and Mary Primmer, both of Vinton, Linda (Paul) Yagla of Mount Pleasant and Jean (Wendell) Larson of Roseville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hagerman Baptist Church, with a 2 p.m. graveside service at Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.
