WATERLOO -Lavon Linda Buhr, 87, of Elkton, S.D., formerly of Waterloo and Clarksville, died Friday, Sept. 9.

She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Clarksville, daughter of Frank and Luella Buchholz Mennenga. She married El Roy E. Buhr on July 29, 1951, at Trinity American Lutheran Church, Waterloo. He died July 24, 2004.

Mrs. Buhr graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1941 and did secretarial work at Morris Printing Co., the ALC Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, and Trinity American Lutheran Church. She also assisted her husband in the ministry, and served as his secretary at several of the parishes. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton.

Survived by two daughters, Beth Voswinkel of Oshkosh, Wis., and Elaine (Dave) Van Dyke of Elkton; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Mennenga.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Sumner. Skroch Funeral Chapel, Flandreau, S.D., is in charge of arrangements.
