WATERLOO - John Gregory Lewis, 66, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Waterloo, died Aug. 18 in Washington, D.C.

He was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 14, 1944, son of James F. Lewis and Jeannette M. Blocker Lewis.

Mr. Lewis graduated from Orange High School, attended Loras College and obtained a law degree from Boston College. He practiced in Washington, D.C., until his retirement.

Survived by four brothers, James C. of Albuquerque, N.M., Jerome F. of Farmington, Utah, Jay Reginald of Cedar Rapids and Jason M. of Woodbury, Minn.; two sisters, Julia A. Lewis of Clear Lake and Jennifer K. Andersen of Escondido, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services pending.

A life full of promises was a bridge too far - we'll miss you John.
