WATERLOO - Iris "Auntie" Zabel, 85, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 8, at Allen Hospital.

She was born May 29, 1926, in Postville, daughter of Fay and Hazel Hangartner Harris.

She worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing for 34 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 764 since 1977.

Survived by two daughters, Cindy of Ankeny and Karen (Dave) Hoffman of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Kacie and Nick Hoffman; a brother, Lee (Dorothy) Harris of Washburn; and many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

Preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Jimmy Mackey; and three brothers, Dean, Merle and Neil Harris.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, with a 5 p.m. Fraternal Order of Eagles memorial service.
