WATERLOO, IOWA - Robert R. "Bob" Johnson, 90, of Waterloo, died Thursday, September 1, at ManorCare Health Services.

He was born on December 11, 1920, in Kanawha, son of John "Jack" and Blanche Collins Johnson.

He graduated from Kanawha High School in 1938, received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and a master's degree from University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Johnson taught chemistry and physics in Humbolt, and taught chemistry at Waterloo West High School for 32 years. He was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.

Survived by cousins, Roger (Margaret) Johnson and Kathryn Johnson, all of Kanawha, Audrey (Paul) Christensen of Madison, S.D., and Delores (Gordon) Severson of Luther; and friends, Barb and Mike Wagner of Waterloo.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity American Lutheran Church. Burial will he held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha, where there will be military rites by American Legion Severson Post 77. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

WATERLOO, IOWA - Robert R. Johnson, 90, of Waterloo, formerly of Kanawha, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Trinity American Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 8, at Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha, with military rites provided by American Legion Severson Post 77.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.
