Mary Cecelia Hollingsworth passed away Aug. 22, 2011, at the age of 93 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. Mary was born May 22, 1918, in Ottumwa, the first child of John and Catherine Phillips. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1936. She married Chester Hollingsworth in October 1948 in Ottumwa.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Sharon) Hollingsworth of Emmetsburg, Paul Hollingsworth of Bath, Maine, and Denise (Mike) Dunlay of Waterloo; a stepson, Dennis (Rita) Hollingsworth of Waukegan, Ill.; a brother, Robert (Lorene) Phillips of Los Banos, Calif.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester in 1975; and her brothers, Patrick, Raymond and Paul "Bud" Phillips.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date in Waterloo.
