WATERLOO - Eleanor I. Kacher, 89, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 21, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Cresco, daughter of Clarence A. and Amy R. Betts Clink. She married Stanley Joseph Kacher on Dec. 30, 1940, in New Hampton. He died June 16, 2006.

Mrs. Kacher was a member of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 19, joining in 1958. She was past financial secretary, held several local and state offices and was state president in 1977 and 1978.

Survived by three sons, Sterling (Jan) Clink of Story City, Stanley (Kathy) Kacher of Anchor Point, Alaska, and Rick (Marilyn) Kacher of Ada, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Corson of Decorah.

Preceded in death by a son, Ron Kacher; and a brother, Clarence Clink.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.
