DUNKERTON - Duane E. Wolff, 68, of Dunkerton, died Friday, Aug. 12, at Covenant Medical Center of complications of heart surgery.

He was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Sumner, son of Paul and Doretta Warnke Wolff. He married Gayle Larson Nov. 16, 1968, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1962. He worked for John Deere for 35 years, retiring as an inspector in 1999. Mr. Wolff served in the U.S. Army from 1962-65.

Survived by his wife; a son, Dan (Denise) of Norwalk; a daughter, Sara (Brian) Boner of Monroe; five grandchildren, Michael, Melissa and Lane Boner, and Nathan and Leah Wolff; his mother, Doretta Seehase of Sumner; four brothers, Robert (Marian) of Waterloo, Harold (Charlene) of Weaver, Wilbert (Beverly) of Dunkerton and Dennis (Carol) of Oelwein; and a brother-in-law, Gordon Kalenske of Dunkerton.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Kay in infancy; a grandson, James Boner in infancy; his father; his stepfather, Edwin Seehase; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Dianna Kalenske.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Bennington Lutheran Church, Bennington Township, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by Waterloo AMVET post 19 and Evansdale AMVET post 31. Public visitation from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, and also for an hour before services at Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
