EVANSDALE - Barbara E. Rose, 88, of Evansdale, died Thursday, Aug. 11, at Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities.

She was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Jefferson, daughter of William C. and Martha Kelley Rhoades. She married Elza M. Rose April 21, 1946, in Waterloo. He died Oct. 22, 2003.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson.

Survived by three sons, Dwight (Nancy), Mark and Kevin (Shelley), all of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Dunne of Churdan; and a brother, Robert (Rita) Rhoades of Jefferson.

Preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Rhoades; a sister, Joyce Kinsman; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Dunne.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.
