MEYER, THIES, BERRY, MACDONALD, LAUTERBACH

WATERLOO - Harold L. "Hal" Meyer, 75, of Waterloo, died Monday, Aug. 1, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.

He was born April 2, 1936, in Hampton, daughter of Lammert and Henrietta Thies Meyer. He married Bonnie L. Berry April 2, 1961, in Austin, Minn.

He graduated from high school in Geneva in 1954. He was a self-employed floor covering installer, retiring in 1997. He played steel and lead guitar for many years in bands in the area. Mr. Meyer served in the Iowa National Guard for eight years, achieving rank of sergeant, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Todd of Stout and Scott of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Robin (Grant) Macdonald of Elgin, Ill.; five grandchildren, Alexis, Avery, Apryl, Dawn and Chloe; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Richard) Lauterbach of Iowa Falls; and three brothers, Glenn (Roberta) of Iowa Falls, and Arthur and Lambert, both of Clear Lake.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Lynn; and two brothers, Raymond and Victor.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites by Iowa Army National Guard. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home.
