WATERLOO - William H. Biemann Jr., 81, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 22, at his home after a long illness.
He was born June 26, 1930, in Waterloo, son of William H. and Derothea M. Venable Biemann Sr. He married Betty M. Wood Nov. 24, 1949, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver.
He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1947. Mr. Biemann worked for 7up Bottlers for 15 years, and Lewis Motor Co. and I.W.I. Auto Parts for 15 years. He spent 20 years farming in Bennington Township, was a Central Committeeman and worked in the restaurant business in Waterloo, Waverly and Cedar Falls for more than 35 years. Mr. Biemann served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver, Black Hawk Lodge 65, Cedar Falls AmVets, Waterloo American Legion, El Mecca Shrine for 15 years and the motorcycle patrol for 10 years.
Survived by his wife; a son, Thomas (Rhonda) of Waterloo; five daughters, Tammy (Rick) Schneider of Waverly, Tracy (Michael) Dreesman of Marion, Teddy Bruns of La Porte City, Terry (Dennis) Zaruba of Marion and Toni (Randy) Eilers of Dunkerton; two sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Wilson of Waterloo and Ethel (Larry) Lindamann of Waterloo; 26 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Jean Eilers; a sister, Bethel; and a brother-in-law, Donald Sieck.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with burial in church cemetery. Military rites by the Cedar Falls Amvets and Waterloo American Legion. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. Masonic service by Black Hawk Lodge 65. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, assisted the family.
