WATERLOO - Evelyn Mae Fike, 86, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 23, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Keystone, daughter of Nicholas and Caroline Selken Hansen. She married Ernest Fike on Aug. 6, 1947. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fike graduated from Keystone High and attended Pitze's Beauty School. She worked at Rath Packing Co., was a seamstress, worked in child care and was a dietary aide at Country View, Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Bernie of Waterloo; two daughters, Frances Novak and Phyllis (Harold) Brandt, both of Waterloo; a brother, Wilbur Hansen of Anamosa; five grandchildren, Mary (Jamie) Geiger, Derek Fike, Nichelle (Ray) Brandt, Mitchel Fike and Kurt Brandt; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Payne, Xander and Hattie; and two sisters-in-law, Bea of North Carolina and Florence Mellen of Arizona.

Preceded in death by six brothers; and three sisters.

Services: were June 28 at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Evelyn enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Evelyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
