WATERLOO — Anine Christine Svendsen LeCocq, 96, of Waseca, Minn., died Friday, June 24, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca.

She was born March 20, 1915, in Dike, daughter of Jens and Christina Jepsen Svendsen. She married Harlan James LeCocq Sept. 6, 1944, in Chicago. He died in 1989.

She attended public school in Dike and worked at the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls. She later worked at Hinson Manufacturing and Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo. The couple started LeCocq Accounting & Tax Service in 1952 where she was office manager until retirement.

Survived by a son, Jim (Amy) of Waseca; two granddaughters, Sarah (Steve) Ketter of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Bethany of Waseca; and a sister, Agnes Henning of McHenry, Ill.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Nielsen and Mary Jane Hensel.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals of Waseca is in charge of arrangements.

One of Anine’s greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughters and watching them participate in activities. She liked to play bingo and cards with her friends at Maple Terrace. She enjoyed travel, seeing new places, meeting people, and doing for others.
