VOORHIES - Doris Ann Reid, 70, of Voorhies, died Tuesday, June 21, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of cancer.

She was born May 7, 1941, in Waterloo, daughter of Wesley and Florence McKenna Yuska. In 1968 she married Duane Reid, and they later divorced.

Ms. Reid graduated from Hudson High School in 1959, and continued her education at Iowa State University, Ames, for one year. In her early years she was employed as a bank teller in Cedar Falls and later as a secretary for Clay Equipment Co. In 1979 she began working for the Hudson school system in the food service area, becoming head cook, retiring in 2006 after 28 years.

Survived by a daughter, Stefanie (Craig) Lorenzen of Dysart; a son, Darren (Lindsay) of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Logan and Lydia Lorenzen and Owen and Abigail Reid; four brothers, Robert (Kathy), Ken (Jill) and Tom (Lori Bayles) Yuska, all of Hudson, and Gordy (Dee) Yuska of Waterloo; her special friend of 16 years, Bill Siebel of Hudson; two special nephews, Jeremiah and Dan Yuska; and several other nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eagle Center, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Doris' free time was spent enjoying the area casino, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
