WATERLOO - Mary M. Wilson, 84, of Evansdale, died Friday, May 27, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born May 2, 1927, in Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of John F. and Mary E. Jordan Driscoll.

She attended school in Staten Island and moved to Iowa in 1949. She was a teacher at River Hills in Cedar Falls and worked at Adults Incorporated in Waterloo. After retirement, she volunteered with Waterloo Public School System, received the Governor's volunteer award in 2008 and was an RSVP volunteer. She organized multiple crafts shows at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Survived by six sons, Craig "Butch" (Chris), Wayne (Sue) and Bob (Kerry), all of Washburn, Richard (Keri) of Waverly, James (Sheryl) of Grundy Center and John (Dee) of Jesup; six daughters, Sharon (Allen) Wagner of Springville, Kathy Kline of Waterloo, Linda of Raymond, Diane Wilson and Sandra Wolff, both of Waterloo, and Lydia (Mark) Brandes of Evansdale; 29 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; and a grandson, Michael Sorenson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial at 1 p.m. Thursday in Garden of Memories. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Most of all, her real treasures were her grandchildren.
