LA PORTE CITY - Kathryn I. Burrows, 97, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, May 24, at Mercy Hospice Care, Iowa City.

She was born April 13, 1914, in rural Benton County, daughter of Daniel and Mattie Hunter Brennan. She married Floyd R. Burrows on May 26, 1942, in Kirksville, Mo. He died Jan. 19, 1983.

Mrs. Burrows was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survived by a daughter, Judy (Jim) Forbes of Iowa City; a grandson, Daniel J. (Gina) Forbes of North Liberty; two great-grandsons, Gaven and Stone Forbes; a brother, Dean (Gloria) Brennan of Marshalltown; and two sisters, Agnes Mahood of La Porte City and Maxine Jurgens of Kansas City, Mo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Frances Brennan; and a sister, Patricia Brennan.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at La Porte City Funeral Service, with burial in West View Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
