WATERLOO - Herbert Ralston. 90, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 17, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center, Cedar Falls.

He was born June 27, 1920, in Vinton, son of Henry M. and Maude Gee Ralston. He married Harriet Faust on Sept. 12, 1944, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Ralston graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1939 and was employed at Waterloo Laundry before enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge he attended and graduated from Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute, St. Louis. He retired from United Hydraulics after many years of employment. He was a member at the American Legion and was a handyman. He did volunteer work for North Arkansas Gospel Missions-AMG Volunteer Services and First Presbyterian Church, both in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Survived by His wife; two sons, John of Allen, Texas, and Stephen (Susan) of Waterloo; a daughter, Dr. Patricia Ralston of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Noel, Gabriel and Dan Holland, and Ian and Emerald Ralston; and a great-grandson, Ethan Holland.

Preceded in death by a brother, Howard.

Private Services will be held. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Herbert had been a collector of stamps since the age of 13 and enjoyed fishing.
