WATERLOO - Darlene M. Perry, 87, of Menomonie, Wis., formerly of Chicago and Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 17, at Dunn County Health Center, Menomomie.

She was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Waterloo, daughter of Charles "Chuck" and Velma Scoles Heinzman Johnson. She married Richard Boston in 1942 in Waterloo. They later divorced. She married Walter Carol Perry on Feb. 23, 1946, in Richmond, Va. He died Aug. 13, 1979.

Mrs. Perry was an alcohol and drug counselor at Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago for 20 years, retiring in 2001. She moved to Menomonie to live with her daughter in 2002.

Survived by a son, Queston B. (Judith) Boston of Elk Run Heights; a daughter, Katherine M. (Vorland) Henderson of Menomonie; a half sister, Toni Taylor of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Shane Boston, Shannon King and Joshua Gibson; and five great-grandchildren.

Services 10 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial at 10 a.m. Friday in Fort Riley Post Cemetery, Fort Riley, Kan. Visitation will be held for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
