CEDAR FALLS - Louis L. "Tud" Eastman, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 15, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born July 17, 1920, in Waterloo, son of Frank and Agnes Morgan Eastman. He married Mercina L. Grieger on June 12, 1940, in Waterloo. She died Oct. 4, 2002.

Mr. Eastman served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was general manager of Viking Pump Iron Foundry, and later was employed as a supervisor with John Deere, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Bob) Glaser and Jeanne (Ace) Rogers, both of Cedar Falls, and Jackie (Bob) Reisinger of Waterloo; a son, Tom (Carol) of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Molly (Ross) Plaehn of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bunny; a sister, Helen Pfiffner; and a great-grandson.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
