EVANSDALE - Virginia M. Herman, 83, of Evansdale, died Monday, May 2, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Alpha, Fayette County, daughter of Guy and Emma Reisner Stedman. She married Albert A. Herman in 1955 in Iowa City.

Mrs. Herman worked as an inhalation therapist at the former St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo, for 10 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cedar Falls.

Survived by her husband; five sons, Allen (Gina) Schroeder of Waverly, Gary (Susan) Schroeder of Grundy Center, Tom Herman of Evansdale, David Herman of Pocahontas and Dennis Herman of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Don) Jarosh of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Stedman of Oelwein; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Sid, Kenny and Doug Stedman.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
