Sugar Creek, MO — A Sugar Creek man died Friday night following a motorcycle crash.

Randy Broten, 52, of Sugar Creek, was traveling alone on his motorcycle with friends on a separate motorcycle at about 9:30 p.m. Friday when he apparently lost control of his bike on Cement City Road, which is just off Missouri 291.

Police Chief Herb Soule said the pair were westbound on Cement City Road when Broten fell behind. Doubling back, the man and woman discovered Broten, who apparently struck gravel and lost control of his motorcycle.

“He must have been traveling pretty fast,” Soule said, adding that one of the concrete slabs moved because of the collision.

Broten died at the scene.
