WATERLOO - Madge Burke, 97, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 26, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Walker, daughter of Oliver Morton and Roseabell Tripp Risdon. She married Donald F. McDonald on Dec. 26, 1936, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death. She married Robert C. Burke on June 16, 1950. He also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Burke worked for the WCF&N Railroad as a clerk for 15 years and later for Sunray DX Oil Co. for five years.

Madge loved music and played trumpet in an all-girls orchestra right after high school. Her hobby was writing and reciting poetry.

Survived by a daughter, Nancy (Butch) Leskun of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Robert (Julie) Leskun and Michelle (Tim) Weber; and five great-grandchildren, Mike, Sam and Nicole Leskun and Max and Joe Weber.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Charles Risdon; three sisters, Hazel Risdon, Thelma Straw and Luciell McPhail; a special friend, Max Kaiser.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, preceded by an hour of visitation. Private committal rites will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
