ELK RUN HEIGHTS - Roy G. Moran Jr., 78, of Elk Run Heights, died Friday, April 22, at Parkview Manor in Waterloo of dementia.

He was born July 31, 1932, in Waterloo, son of Roy and Grace Brown Moran Sr. He married Betty L. Weber Feb. 1, 1958, in Waterloo.

Mr. Moran was employed by Rath Packing Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Dan of Jesup and Scott (Carmen) of Plano, Texas; four daughters, Deborah (Carl) Smith of Waterloo, Vicki (Mick) Putnam of Jesup, Sandy (Jerry) Culpepper of Waterloo and Amy (Steve) Lampman of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert in infancy and Robert; and four sisters, Lois See, Delores Hild, Norma Phillips and Carol Chounard.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
