EVANSDALE - Donald G. "Pepa" Zook Sr., 80, of Evansdale, died Saturday, April 16, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, following a sudden illness.

He was born March 19, 1931, in Beatrice, Neb., son of Earl J. and Fern Lenz Zook. He married Mary Ann Casebeer on Feb. 16, 1952, in Wymore, Neb. She died Dec. 3, 2004.

Mr. Zook was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed at Northern National Gas as a shift supervisor, retiring after 36 years of service, and was a member at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survived by two sons, Don G. Jr. (Maxcene) of Berthoud, Colo., and Jon D. of Evansdale; two daughters, Deborah A. (Steve) Nungesser and Linda G. (David) Hippen, both of Lincoln, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth (Taki) of York, Neb., and Bob of Lincoln.

Preceded in death by a brother Bill; and a sister.

Services 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial fund has been established.
