WATERLOO - Richard A. Webber, 80, of Des Moines, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 15, at his daughter's home after a short illness.

He was born April 2, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Walter McKinley and Loretta Potter Webber. He married Mary Anne Weiden Sept. 8, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Mr. Webber worked for Kleen Maid Bakery, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a custodian at Waterloo Community Schools for 11 years.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Cindy (Terry) Olson of Des Moines, Beth Webber of Waterloo, Julie (David) Busch of Des Moines and Monica (Mathew) McCue of Fort Carson, Colo.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Claudia) Webber of Michigan; and two sisters, Marilyn (Bill) Bascom of Cedar Rapids and Clarece (Jim) Wanderschied of Dallas, Texas.

Preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Shimp.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa Heart Foundation in Des Moines or Alzheimer's Association in honor of Mary Anne.
