HARE, CLUE, YARRINGTON, SPEAR, PURDY

WATERLOO - Lawrence R. Hare, 77, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 14, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born May 31, 1933, in Waterloo, son of Floyd and Mabel Clue Hare. He married JoAnn M. Yarrington April 26, 1952, at First Wesleyan Church in Waterloo.

He graduated from Orange High School in 1951. Mr. Hare was a ham cooker at Rath Packing Co. for 34 years, drove a Waterloo school bus for several years and was a custodian at Cedar Falls Schools, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Cedar Valley Community Church.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Denise (DeeDee) of Waterloo; two brothers, Kenneth (Virginia) of Columbus Junction and Robert (Julie) of Fort Meyers, Fla.; a sister, Marilyn Spear of Clayton; a brother-in-law, Elwin Purdy of Brooksville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sons, Larry J. and Jim A. (Jimmy); and a sister, Velma Purdy.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Valley Community Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
