Yvonne B. “Bonnie” Young, 85, of Hoffman Estates, IL, formerly of La Porte City, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Schaumburg, IL.

She was born September 16, 1923 in Warren County, Iowa the daughter of Ray and Louise Banks Bertrand. She married William Young on September 4, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV; he preceded her in death on January 19, 2007.

Bonnie worked as a steno clerk for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 20 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by one daughter, Judie Deines of Schaumburg, IL; three grandsons, James (Christy), Timothy (Megan), Ronald Deines and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Robert Letsch, Jr.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at La Porte City Funeral Service with burial in the West View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the La Porte City Fire and Rescue.
