Aimee L. Bunger, age 30, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Tuesday September 2, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of natural causes.

She was born March 10, 1978 at Schoitz Hospital in Waterloo, the daughter of Michael Bruce and Lori Ann (Dirksen) McKinley. She graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Nebraska. Aimee was united in marriage with Nikolas T. Bunger on September 1, 2007 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Cedar Falls. They celebrated their first anniversary the day prior to her death and were anticipating the joy of their first child in April 2009.

While a student in High School, Aimee spent many happy hours volunteering at the local humane society helping care for the animals. At the time of her death, she was the manager for the Game Stop store in Waterloo. Aimee enjoyed playing video games, shopping and was especially fond of her dogs Cady and Copper.

Survivors include her husband, Nik of Waterloo; her parents, Mike and Lori McKinley of Cedar Falls; her maternal grandparents, Dean and Pat Dirksen of Waterloo; her paternal grandmother, Charlene McKinley of Chariton, IA; father-in-law and mother–in-law, Milton “Bill” and Debi Bunger of Waterloo; a sister-in-law Kristina Bunger of Minneapolis, MN and a grandmother-in-law, Marge Heidt of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jack McKinley.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home.
