Cletus F. Schoeberl, 84, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Friendship Village. He was born September 17, 1924 in Cresco the son of Matt and Mary Lusson Schoeberl. He married Betty Ann Ernst on June 12, 1945 in Cresco.

He worked as a mechanic for John Deere for 20 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife Betty of Waterloo; one daughter, Kathleen (Dave) Fulks of Waterloo four sons, Gary (Deb) of Janesville, MN, Jim of Stoughton, WI, Lynn (Diane) of Apple Valley, MN, Dean (Kim) of Rochester, MN; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eugene Schoeberl; one sister, Betty Neuendorf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman – Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with a 7 p.m. Scripture Service. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Edward Catholic Church.
