CEDAR FALLS - Jerry David "J.D." Zikuda, 68, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 20, at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, Neb.

He was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, son of Jerry Joseph and Helen Augusta Kratz Zikuda. He married Sybilla Kuhnle at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, on Feb. 4, 1972.

Mr. Zikuda graduated from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1960. He attended Iowa State University for a short time prior to entering the U.S. Army. He then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was employed by J.S. Latta as a salesman from 1973 to 2009, when he retired. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Wagner and Jessica (Mike) Mathisen, both of Atlantic, and Justine (Joel) Reed of Independence; and seven grandchildren.

Services 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home, Atlantic, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Hearts of Promise Worship Ministry.
