WATERLOO — Lillian Tragord, 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 12, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in West Union, daughter of Ross and Sarah Smale Whitcher. She married Elvin "Junior" Tragord on July 22, 1945, in Cedar Falls. He died Oct. 13, 2009.

She graduated from West Union High School. She worked at Rath Packing Co.

Survived by two daughters, Colleen (George) Miller of Waverly and Kim (Larry Garretson) Eighme of Waterloo; a son, Emmett (Patsy) of Evansdale; a daughter-in-law, Jane (Lonnie) Tragord Stein of Tripoli; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a best friend, Barb Schilling of Elk Run Heights; and two sisters, Alice Powell of Strawberry Point and Mary Gray of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two sons, Glen and Clete; an infant daughter, Gloria; two sisters, Clara Light and Evelyn Schmieling; and four brothers, Ralph, Marion, Howard and Forrest Whitcher.

Services 10 a.m. Thursday at Kimball Ave United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with a 5 p.m. Eastern Star service by Cedar Valley Chapter 128 O.E.S.
