WAVERLY, IOWA - William "Bill" L. Northrup, 75, of Waverly, died Friday, March 4, at Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls.

He was born July 22, 1935, in Cedar Falls, son of John and Dorothy Yarcho Northrup. He married Beverly Jean Weber Jan. 31, 1964, at Evangelical United Bethlehem Church in Cedar Falls. She died April 23, 2008.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1953 and attended Iowa State Teachers College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army April 1, 1958, and received an honorable discharge in 1959. Mr. Northrup worked at Precision Tool and Machine Works in Waterloo as a tool maker for 15 years. The couple farmed near Waverly.

Survived by a son, Jack L. of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Valorie J. of Clutier; and two brothers, Tom (Gretchen) of Kelley and Edd (Sherry) of Cedar Falls.

Memorial services 4 p.m. Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. Public visitation for two hours before services Saturday at the funeral home.
