LA PORTE CITY — Ruth B. Lund, 82, of La Porte City, died Sunday, March 6, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Kansas City, Kan., daughter of Henry and Bernice Crittenden Utesch. She married Charles Lund on Feb. 6, 1948, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Lund graduated from Riceville High School in 1946; was a member of the Wesleyan Women, the Pepper Club and ODO Club; and a former member of the Brandon School Board.

Survived by her husband: two sons, Robert (Peggy) of La Porte City and Tom of Brandon; three daughters, Margie (James) Smith of Independence, Karen (Jerry) Lesh of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Janet (David) Harwood of Grimes; 12 grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Stevens, Chad (Jill) Smith, Angela (John) Logan, Sheri Lund, Eric (Nicki) Lund, Mallori (Jonathan) Demildt, Dan Lund, Shawn (Leah) Lesh, Ryan Lund, Beth Lesh, Sonya Harwood and Ben Harwood; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth McKinley and Isabel Robinson.

Services 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Heartland Community Church, La Porte City, with burial in Brandon Cemetery, Brandon. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. The casket will be closed on Saturday. La Porte City Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice Home, in lieu of flowers.
