EVANSDALE — Gene R. Kuehl, 88, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, March 8, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Guttenberg, son of Henry and Barbara Rogers Kuehl. He married Evelyn Plummer on Oct. 27, 1943, in Elkader.

Mr. Kuehl was employed with Rath Packing Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1978. After his retirement he drove a bus for Exceptional Persons and also had a Waterloo Courier motor route for nine years.

Survived by his wife; four sons, Gary of Belaire, Md., James (Jan) of Evansdale, and Gregory (Joyce) and John (Bonnie), both of Waterloo; two daughters, Kathryn Millard of Waterloo and Karen (Steve) Adams of Evansdale; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Preceded in death by a son, Kelly Gerald; a son-in-law, Don Millard; and six brothers, Edward, Robert, Joseph, Richard, Harvey and Gerald.

Services 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
