CEDAR FALLS - Donald C. Rabe, 85, of Walsenburg, Colo., formerly of Cedar Falls, died in Walsenburg on Friday, Feb. 11, of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Alta Vista, son of Emil and Jeanette Schoeneman Rabe. He married Oriel Eller on Oct. 9, 1947, at Radcliffe Evangelical Church, Radcliffe.

Mr. Rabe graduated from Iowa Falls High School, Iowa Falls, and later attended Iowa State University. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during World War II in Iwo Jima, Japan, where he was wounded and later awarded the Purple Heart. He farmed in Iowa and was a realtor and home builder in Iowa and Arkansas until retiring to southern Colorado. He was a member of Huerfano Community Bible Church, Walsenburg.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Connie (Paul) Young of Lebanon, Mo., Sandy (Jim) Law of Cedar Falls and Peggy (Ted) Peters of Alpine, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gordon of Iowa Falls and James of Lebanon.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Robert; an infant son, Daniel; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Olson.

Memorial services will take place at a later date in Walsenburg and Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Huerfano Community Bible Church, Walsenburg.
